OCCIDENTAL GRAND PAPAGAYO

Dive

The Gulf of Papagayo, located on the northwest Pacific coast of Costa Rica, offers an intense concentration of marine life. The plankton rich waters are home to a diversity of aquatic life, as well as plentiful reservoirs of oceanic flora and fauna. These waters are especially known for large species such as: white-tip reef sharks, giant schools of grunt, spotted eagle rays, turtles, and stingrays. Angel fish, octopus, sea horse, starfish, frog fish, and a variety of eels are commonly spotted on any dive. Night diving provides an illuminated journey through phosphoric and volcanic rock formations. Dive enthusiasts schedule trips to sites including The Twins, Tortuga, Mango, and Punta Gorda. New divers may dip in with Discover Scuba Diving and Certified diving courses. Two dives are scheduled daily with trips to Catalina Island or Bat Island.
